Maybank Highway and Woodland Shores Complete Streets
About the Project
The Maybank Highway and Woodland Shores Complete Streets project consists of three components:
- Varying width sidewalk (4'-8') along Woodland Shores Road from Maybank Highway to Riverland Drive and associated drainage improvements.
- Removal and replacement of existing 5' sidewalk with a varying width sidewalk (5'-6') along Maybank Highway from Woodland Shores to Stefan Drive.
- Mid-block crossing with pedestrian refuge and rectangular rapid-flashing beacon (RRFB) across Maybank Highway.
These projects were combined to apply for federal funding under the Complete Streets program. The project will promote safety and connectivity to mass transit and local businesses for all pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists in the area.
