About the Project

Since 2004, Charleston County Government, the City of Charleston, and SCDOT have worked together to improve safety and traffic flow on Maybank Highway. In September 2018 Phase 2 of the project was completed. The project is currently in Phase 3.

Budget

Charleston County Council approved $15,000,000 from the 2016 Transportation Sales Tax to fund the project.

Status

Project is complete. The Northern Pitchfork Road is open to users as of March 26, 2024.
